MISSION

Michiana Watershed, Inc. aims to promote the improvement and conservation of our environment and natural resources. Its purpose is to create awareness in the community for the need to improve, conserve and appropriately use our water, land and human resources and encourage action by appropriate groups and agencies toward ahcieving these benefits.

Michiana Watershed, Inc. is a non-profit organization. The membership consists of concerned citizens from the Michiana area. The participation of the members is on a volunteer basis, and the officers, directors and staff receive no monetary compensation.

Michiana Watershed was established in 1957 by a group of citizens seeking to create awareness in the local community of the natural wonders in the St. Joseph River Basin and to promote their beneficial use. It continues its service to the community by monitoring conditions, events, and legislation that may have an impact on the local natural resources and providing a forum during monthly meetings for the consideration of new and innovative projects to improve and preserve our environment.

Membership is free of dues. However funding is important to the success of Michiana Watershed and donations are welcomed. Please send check or money order payable to "Michiana Watershed, Inc." to:
